GroupVille 2.x pricing and support options
GroupVille is available in two versions:
-
Free version for up to 3 users without dedicated support. This version can be used for both evaluations and productive use. You can't add paying modules and use the free SQL database version.
-
Licensed versions - 6 users up to a site license - including support. These versions include a complete starter package:
- the GroupVille Java Server
- a number GroupVille of client licenses for both desktop and mobile HTML clients as well as Palm Sync.
- the SQL FrontBase database server (bundled version) allowing for backups
- electronic documentation (in PDF format)
- e-mail support during 12 months
- Licenses for 50 users and up also include a free SMS starter kit

* User numbers: A GroupVille user using the desktop and the (optional) mobile HTML client and Palm Sync only counts as one user, the user can use the same username and password for all 3 activities. The Admin(s) count(s) as a user, their logins can also be used for normal, productive work inside GroupVille. "Site license" users refers to all employees of a company/organization and its wholly owned subsidiaries.
** Education / Non-Profit discount: Written Proof of affiliation as student or educator in such an institution is required. You can send this proof as a PDF file, by postal mail or fax. Please note that the support & paid upgrades for educational / non-profit versions of 15% per year is based on the normal license fees since we have the same amount of work.
*** Support options: Although we try to help every customer as much as possible during installation or production issues, there can obviously be no garantued response time without a support contract. If you need additional support and garantueed e-mail response times (48-72 working hours) you can purchase unlimited e-mail support at 15% of your license price for every 12 months. If you need additional 1:1 support you can buy support incidents at $ 99 each. This also covers all major upgrades to the product during this period. Additional support is available from GroupVille resellers (hosting, installation, maintenance) and Frontbase (backup service, disaster recovery) separately. See price lists below for details.
**** Database: Bundled FrontBase (SQL database) licenses are only included for paying customers. The free Frontbase version can be downloaded from www.frontbase.com -> Store -> E-Starter License.

GroupVille Buying Options
Option1: Purchase the GroupVille Software: Buy GroupVille online and install/host it yourself on your servers
If your organisation familiar with deployment/hosting of Java application servers (such as WebObjects) you can to purchase GroupVille online to get started immediately.Your orders will be processed securely on the Kagi Internet Store. Kagi sells software for over 7000 independent software vendors since 1994 (!) and utilizes SSL for secure transactions so your information is safe from interception and alteration.
Option2: Buy a Software/Hardware Bundle: Buy a pre-configured server (eg. Apple XServe rack servers).
Some customers will want support for the installation and deployment. Sendai (only within Switzerland) and some of our resellers locally offer pre-configured Apple XServe rack servers so you can get started right away.You may also have this server 'housed' (the server is purchased by you) and then host GroupVille at a GroupVille hosting partner location or your existing hosting provider.
Option3: Rent GroupVille: Use GroupVille over the Internet as a service.
Some customers may also want to connect to a GroupVille environment hosted on an external Internet server using ASP (Application Service Providing). You can set up individual agreements with the reseller of your choice. Please have a look at our list of resellers and integrators.
