There are three different ways to add functionality to GroupVille:

• Internal Sendai extensions: Extensions to the core GroupVille functionality written by Sendai Systems.
• Third-party extensions: External webservices or applications/modules linked to GroupVille using standards such as iCalendar, vCard, XML using SOAP, RSS or similar protocols.
• Third-party components: Internal GroupVille project or stand-alone modules. These modules are created using the upcoming GroupVille API/SDK written in Java.

Sendai extensions

- Data export Module (GroupVille Intranets -> public websites, Java CMS systems): Assigned GroupVille Administrators can publish events and news (using open formats such as iCalendar for events and XML for news) from GroupVille intranets to one or many public websites. Additional export facilities to public and protected webpages using a J2EE-compatible CMS (Magnolia 2.0) will be available soon.

The news and calendar export feeds are included for free with GroupVille. Additional information will be available on the Developer page. Customers or developers who do not want to process these feeds can ask for custom implementations from Amazing Technologies (see below for details) or use a CMS bridge for simple needs.

External users (without GV password) can also manually enter (suggest) such items.

- Magnolia 2.0 (Java Content Management System): Import and export data with GroupVille (News, FAQ, Events, People and Tasks) to present GroupVille information on public or semi-public webpages. Magnolia is a J2EE-compatible Content Management System (CMS)

- SMS Server: The SMS module allows you to send SMS messages to over 400 networks in over 150 countries from your GroupVille server. - News feeds / News Parser and RSS feed server: A separate application parsing news sites and/or RSS feeds. While there are many RSS readers available today, this software is also able to parse HTML sites for content and news headlines. The parsed feeds are then sent as RSS streams to GroupVille where each user can personalise and receive his favourite news items. The application is called 'MacReporter Server':
